My Sleeping Angel
Well, I wasn't really planning on blogging today, but then I took this picture of our sweet little McCartney napping in her swing, so of course I had to post it and link up over at Clan Donaldson. She's starting a fun little weekly photography link party and today's the first installment. The theme is "a photo with sun flare or haze. Btw, just in case you're wondering what fancy gadget and high tech lens I used, that would be the iPhone 4S camera feature. Sun flare achieved by total accident.
I know what you're thinking...she's a photography pro. Just start the tutorial requests folks! ;o)
Anyway, things are just wonderful here at our little abode!
We have been staying cooped up in our warm little house and don't plan on changing that anytime soon.
1. It's soooooo cold outside.
2. Everyone and their dog has the flu so I don't feel like either of us being around large groups of people.
3. We really don't have anywhere to go.
So, thank goodness I'm a hardcore homebody because we're been staying put, just cuddling and snuggling, which is 110% fine with me.
Who needs a Boppy when you have a Trudy?
We have had some visitors which has been nice. Last night our good friends Will and LeeAnn brought us the most ammmmmaaaaazzzzing dinner.
Words cannot describe just how delicious this was. And we have plenty of leftovers - yay!
Those two are just wonderful. We attend a Bible study at their house and they are seriously two of the nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet. It makes me really glad that Ben works with such nice people. Doctors, especially surgeons, can get a bad rep and my experiences with them have been nothing but positive. They are hard-working, faith-filled people who love their families.
Then today another awesome duo, Brittany and Trisha, came by to bring us some freezer meals and meet little Miss McCartney. Our wives group, The Better Halves, hasn't had a get together in over a month with the holidays and new year, so it was awesome to see them and catch up. I'm realllllly going to miss them next year when they head off with their hubbies on their fellowship adventures. The group just won't be the same.
Anyway, tonight another amazing wife, Sasha, is bringing over some more freezer meals from her and some of the other wives. She organized the whole thing and has been collecting them this week. I mean, seriously? How nice are our friends?! We are just so blessed.
When we moved down here, I only knew a handful of people. However, through Ben's work and our residency spouses' group that we started I have been able to get to know some of the most caring, kind, genuine, funny people that I've ever met. I seriously feel like we are surrounded by friends which is such a wonderful feeling and such a relief after moving away from my family and everyone I knew.
Anyway, the little one has been rockin' for awhile so I'm thinking that it's time that we switch it up and snuggle some more. ;o)
See you tomorrow!
